Our day off, we wanted to go swimming in the ocean. after getting slightly lost on our way to Patrick’s house in the countryside outside Brest, near a small town called Plougastel, we dropped off all our gear at his place. we met his really nice family and they welcomed us into their home. Patrick took us to a really neat nearby beach at the Pointe de Bindy. we swam in the cool, but not cold, water. we all went a little too far around one point and got caught in a current pulling us into the next bay, but we got back ok ;)

on the way home we stopped in Daoulas and got a tour of the town and the beautiful little abbey - out of a storybook basically.

back at the house Patrick’s dad made us a traditional Laos style meal. very spicy and tasty, catfish and coconut. and he also brought out all his whiskeys, and some too-good wine and liqueurs. it was a fun night! we even managed to practice some songs with Patrick for the next night.
